It is a direct sequel to John Carpenter's Halloween and Halloween II (Meaning that the events of 4: The Return, 5: The Revenge, and 6: The Curse do not occur, not counting III: Season of the Witch which does not revolve around Michael Myers) set twenty years later, and centers on a post-traumatic Laurie Strode living in fear of her murderous brother, Michael Myers, who attempted to kill her all those years ago. When Michael eventually appears, Laurie/Keri must face evil one last time, whilst the life of her teenage son hangs in the balance.
